Automatic app updates

Your Huawei smartphone as well as the Play Store automatically provide you with app updates to keep the functionality of our applications up to date. By default, updates are only downloaded and installed over WiFi. You can change this function so that the updates can also be loaded via mobile data, or you switch the function off completely and update the apps manually.

Android 10 (EMUI 10.0)
Step 1: Tap on the Play Store
Step 2: Open the menu
Step 3: Open the settings
Step 4: Tap on Auto-update apps
Step 5: Choose between Over any network , Over Wi-Fi only or Don't auto-update apps
Step 6: Confirm with Done

  6. Confirm with Done

Force stop apps

If an app on the Huawei smartphone stops responding or cannot be closed via the app switch, we can force an exit or stop.

Step 1: Open the Settings
Step 2: Tap on  Apps
Step 3: Tap on  Apps
Step 4: Choose an  app
Step 5: Tap on  Force stop
Step 6: Confirm with  Force stop

Download apps over WiFi only

In the Play Store settings, we can specify the app download preference.
Apps can also be downloaded to the Huawei smartphone via the mobile data or only via the wireless network. This setting offers a little more control over the existing data volume.
We can select one of the following options

  • Over any network
  • Over Wi-Fi only
  • Ask me every time
