Add Widget
Widgets are useful little programs that show the content of many installed apps shown clearly on your home screen. If you installed for example a stock market app on your Huawei device, the fitting app will show stock prices that are may of interest for the user. Widgets can be installed and uninstalled fast and can be placed on the home screen.
- Tap and hold a free space on your home screen
- Tap on Widgets
- Choose a Widget
- Tap on your preferred option
- Tap on a free space on your home screen
Widget size
Most of the added widgets can be edited to change the size, to keep the Huawei home screen nice and tidy.
- Tap and hold a Widget
- Pull on the points that frame the widget to change the size
- Tap on a free space to end editing
Delete a Widget
As useful as Widgets are, sometimes there are reasons to delete them. Be it space problems, outdated content or a intensive data consumption. Widgets can be deleted easily from your Huawei home screen.
- Tap and hold the Widget to delete
- Tap on Remove
- Confirm with Remove
Remove Google search
After the initial setup of the Huawei smartphone, we are presented by default with the Google search bar on the home screen, which can be removed like a normal widget to make room and personalize the home screen according to our own wishes.

Move widget
The added widgets on the start screen of the Huawei smartphone can be moved afterwards, if the current position is felt as disturbing.
