Add fingerprint

We can add multiple fingerprints to the Huawei smartphone, for example, to allow two-handed unlocking of the device. Once the fingerprint has been registered, it can be renamed immediately, although this may happen later.

Android 10 (EMUI 10.0)
Step 1: Open the Settings
Step 2: Tap on Biometrics & password
Step 3: Tap on Fingerprint ID
Step 4: Tap on Fingerprint management
Step 5: Tap on New fingerprint
Step 6: Press the fingerprint sensor and follow the instructions on screen

Rename fingerprint

After the successful registration of a fingerprint we can rename the fingerprint directly, because the different fingerprints are named by default Fingerprint 1/2/3... If no name was assigned after registering, the fingerprint can be renamed afterwards at any time.

Step 3: Tap on Fingerprint ID
Step 4: Tap on Fingerprint management
Step 5: Choose a  fingerprint
Step 6: Tap on  Rename
Step 7: Enter a name and tap  OK

  4. Tap on Fingerprint management
  5. Choose a fingerprint
  6. Tap on Rename
  7. Enter a name and tap OK

Delete fingerprint

If desired, the individual fingerprints can also be deleted from the Huawei smartphone again. After the last fingerprint ID has been
deleted, the fingerprint unlock method is getting disabled automatically.

Access safe with fingerprint

Similar to the app lock, the safe on the Huawei smartphone can be unlocked or accessed using the fingerprint ID to avoid the password entry of the safe.

Access app lock with fingerprint

We can specify whether the app lock on the Huawei smartphone should be unlocked with the fingerprint, so that locked apps don´t have to be unlocked manually by entering the app lock password.
