Huawei How to Set up SD Card

You can choose the SD card you put into your Huawei device as your preferred storage location for pictures and videos. Picture serias will still be stored in the intern storage.

If a new memory card is inserted in your Huawei smartphone, it is advantageous to format it. Existing files are deleted and any necessary directories are created.

Note: All data is deleted during formatting and cannot be restored.

If you want to use the memory card in another device, such as a laptop, it is advantageous to eject it on the Huawei smartphone first. This disconnects all connections to and from the memory card to prevent data loss.

Memory cards are automatically recognized by the Huawei smartphone and released for use. If the memory card was unmounted, however, it must be made available again.

We can additionally protect the data on the micro SD or memory card by encrypting it on the Huawei smartphone. In doing so,
the files are encrypted so that access is only possible via the encrypting device. The memory card remains unreadable
for other devices until it is decrypted again.

If the memory card was encrypted on the Huawei smartphone to protect the existing data, it must also be decrypted by this device in order to use it on other tablets, smartphones or laptops.
