Default browser

Every LG smartphone comes with Google Chrome pre-installed, which is also set as the default browser, but if a new browser such as Firefox or Opera is installed, these can also be set as the default browser.

Android 9 (LG UX 9.0)
Step 1:  Open the  Settings
Step 2:  Tap on  General
Step 3:  Tap on  Apps & notifications
Step 4:  Tap on  Default apps
Step 5:  Tap on  Browser app
Step 6:  Choose desired  Browser

  4. Tap on Default apps
  5. Tap on Browser app
  6. Choose desired Browser

Default System Launcher

If you want to use an alternative launcher (user interface) on your LG smartphone, you not only have to install it but also set it as default.

Step 1:  Open the  Settings
Step 2:  Tap on  General
Step 3:  Tap on  Apps & notifications
Step 4:  Tap on  Default apps
Step 5:  Tap on  Home app
Step 6:  Choose desired  Launcher

Default messaging app

Incoming SMS messages are displayed on the LG smartphone by default using the Messages app, but you can also manage your messages using other apps such as the popular Facebook Messenger app. To receive messages (SMS) from another app, you need to set that app as the default app.

Step 1:  Open the  Settings
Step 2:  Tap on  General
Step 3:  Tap on  Apps & notifications
Step 4:  Tap on  Default apps
Step 5:  Tap on  Message app
Step 6:  Choose desired  Message app
Step 7:  Confirm with  Change

Default Dialer-App

If you want to make calls on the LG smartphone, you usually use the pre-installed system app "Phone". However, alternative phone apps such as dialer can also be installed on the device. To ensure that all calls are routed via the new desired app, this must be defined as the default app.
