Most printers are recognised by LG equipment via WLAN if both devices are on the same network, and depending on the printer, they can also be connected to the LG device via Wi-Fi Direct.

Adding printers with IP addresses

If on the same network, but not automatically detected, printers can also be added using the IP address as shown in this manual.

Printing via USB cable

The third possibility would be to use the USB cable. Please note that the LG device must support USB OTG. In addition, the printer must know the printer language PCL3 or PCL5.

Like a computer, the LG device requires a driver to print. Although Android already provides a printer driver, it does not always detect all printers, and some features may not be fully available.

Via the printer settings all printer services are displayed which can then be installed from the Play Store.

Note: The printer service only needs to be installed if the default Android service on the LG device does not recognize the printer.

Different file formats can be printed with the LG device depending on the print service, but the common formats as listed below are also supported by the standard print service, so the LG device can print the following files:

• Photos (JPEG, PNG)
• Microsoft Office
• Text files
• Websites
• PDF

Note: This tutorial shows how to print a web page. Files such as photos or PDF documents are printed in a similar way. To do this, open the menu in the top right-hand corner of the details view where the "Print" command is located.
