Automatic download of files

If the OnePlus smartphone is not within range of an available Wi-Fi network, we can specify whether received files in the Messages app should automatically be downloaded via the mobile data.

We have the following options to choose from, which gives us a little more control over the available data volume:

  • Default (21 MB)
  • 2.0 MB
  • 5.0 MB
  • 10MB
  • 25 MB
  • 50 MB
  • Disable

Step 1:  Open the  Messages app
Step 2:  Open the  menu
Step 3:  Open the  Settings
Step 4:  Tap on  Chat features
Step 5:  Tap on  Auto-download files you receive over mobile data
Step 6:  Choose  Default (21 MB), 2 / 5 / 10 / 25 / 50 MB  or  Disable

Resend undelivered messages

We can decide whether undelivered messages should be automatically resent by the Messages app, or whether we want to be asked for each MAl, for example.

We have the following options to control the sending of messages on the OnePlus smartphone:

  • Always resend as SMS
  • Resend as SMS when not roaming
  • Ask before resending
  • Never resend as SMS

Step 4:  Tap on  Chat features
Step 5:  Tap on  Resend messages if undelivered

Chat features

Depending on the provider, the chat functions of the Messages app on the OnePlus smartphone can be used, which are similar to messenger functions and send and receive messages via the mobile data or a connected wireless network.

This includes, for example, the display on the chat partner's device whether we are currently writing a text or not.

If desired, the chat features can be turned on/off at any time.

Send read receipts

The read receipts allow other conversation or chat partners to see whether we have read one or more received messages.

This feature is similar to the blue check marks in WhatsApp Messenger and can be (de)activated on the OnePlus smartphone at any time if desired.

Show typing indicators

The Show typing indicators lets the conversation or chat partner know that we are writing or typing on the OnePlus smartphone, similar to the WhatsApp Messenger.

If desired, this function can be disabled at any time, for example if the pressure to write a quick reply is too great.
