App timer

In order to limit the use of certain apps, such as games or social networks, and to have a little more control over the time of use on the OnePlus smartphone, we can set individual app timers.

If the pre-defined usage time of the corresponding app is exceeded, it will be automatically deactivated until the timer limit automatically resets at 00:00.

Android 10 (OxygenOS 10.0)
Step 1:  Open the  Settings
Step 2:  Tap on  Digital Wellbeing & parental controls
Step 3:  Tap on  Dashboard
Step 4:  Tap on  Timer
Step 5:  Set the  app timer
Step 6:  Confirm with  OK

Bedtime mode

Using the bedtime mode on the OnePlus smartphone, we can set a schedule of bedtime that enables the grayscale on the screen and activates the Do Not Disturb mode if desired.

This can be done by setting a personalised schedule with individual start and end times and the days of the week, or by activatingthe BedtimeCharging function, which automatically registers when the device is being charged.

Step 3:  Tap on  Bedtime mode
Step 4:  Choose  Based on schedule  or  While charging at bedtime
Step 5:  Tap on  Customize
Step 6:  Enable or disable  Do Not Disturb  or  Grayscale

  4. Choose Based on schedule or While charging at bedtime

Focus mode

Concentration or Focus mode on the OnePlus smartphone pauses specified apps and hides their notifications to allow you to focus on your work.

After selecting the distracting apps, we can turn on/off the Focus Mode manually or set a custom schedule with individual start and end times.

Note: Notifications from affected apps will be received, but will not be displayed during the Focus mode.

Concentration Mode can also be activated at any time via the Status Bar's Quick Settings, provided the appropriate icon has been added.

Step 5:  Choose  Set a schedule  or  Turn on now

Parental control settings

We can set up parental controls on the OnePlus smartphone to give us a little more control over content played and device usage time, and limit it if desired.
The parental controls allow us to add restrictions to Google services or content filters on Google Play.

Note: The Family Link app allows parents to remotely supervise a set up smartphone.
