Spell check
The keyboard on the OnePlus smartphone not only includes an auto-correction but also a spell checker that can be turned on/off independently at any time.
Wrongly spelled words are not corrected immediately, but only underlined to draw attention to a typo.

- Open the Settings
- Tap on System
- Tap on Languages & input
- Tap on Virtual keyboard
- Tap on Gboard
- Tap on Text correction
- Enable or disable Spell check
Auto punctuate
The keypad on the OnePlus smartphone has a feature where double-tapping the spacebar on the keyboard inserts an automatic period and an additional space.
This function significantly increases typing speed, because after each sentence, you only need to tap the space twice to start another sentence.
Note: It is recommended to also enable auto-capitalize.

- Open the Settings
- Tap on System
- Tap on Languages & input
- Tap on Virtual keyboard
- Tap on Gboard
- Tap on Text correction
- Enable or disable Double-space period
Auto-capitalization
The automatic capitalism on the OnePlus smartphone automatically recognizes punctuation marks and starts with a capital letter of the word that is being started after the beginning of the sentence.
This feature increases the speed of text input, such as WhatsApp messages or e-mails, by eliminating the need to switch between the two at the beginning of each sentence.

- Open the Settings
- Tap on System
- Tap on Languages & input
- Tap on Virtual keyboard
- Tap on Gboard
- Tap on Text correction
- Enable or disable Auto-capitalization
Block offensive words
The OnePlus smartphone's auto-correction settings include a feature that automatically blocks offensive content or does not suggest potentially offensive words.
By default, the feature is enabled on the OnePlus device, but can be disabled at any time in the keyboard settings if desired.

- Open the Settings
- Tap on System
- Tap on Languages & input
- Tap on Virtual keyboard
- Tap on Gboard
- Tap on Text correction
- Enable or disable Block offensive words
Glide typing
Glide Typing is a feature on the OnePlus smartphone that makes text input much easier.
You don't have to tap every single letter on the virtual keyboard, but you can stroke from one letter to the next to compose a word or text.
After activating Glide Typing, we have the following additional options available:
- Show gesture trail
- Enable gesture delete
- Enable gesture cursor control

- Open the Settings
- Tap on System
- Tap on Languages & input
- Tap on Virtual keyboard
- Tap on Gboard
- Tap on Glide typing
- Enable or disable Glide typing
Auto-correction
The keyboard on the OnePlus smartphone has an auto-correction feature that makes typing or text entry much more convenient.
It automatically corrects typing errors, which provides an increase in speed while typing WhatsApp messages or e-mails, for example.
Nevertheless, it can happen that corrections made are not quite correct and, for example, funny corrections or content may appear.
Note: The keyboard auto-correction can be turned on/off at any time.

- Open the Settings
- Tap on System
- Tap on Languages & input
- Tap on Virtual keyboard
- Tap on Gboard
- Tap on Text correction
- Enable or disable Auto-correction
Pop-up on keypress
By default, when entering text on the OnePlus smartphone, every single keystroke is shown as a pop-up when writing a WhatsApp message or e-mail, for example.
If desired, highlighting of tapped virtual keys can be (de)activated at any time.

- Open the Settings
- Tap on System
- Tap on Languages & input
- Tap on Virtual keyboard
- Tap on Gboard
- Tap on Text correction
- Enable or disable Popup on keypress
Key long press delay
For example, to enter a symbol or number while entering text on the OnePlus smartphone's virtual keyboard, individual keys can be tapped and held.
Here we can set the duration of the long keystroke and use a slider to set a value between 100 ms and 700 ms.
Note: The default value is a delay of 300 ms.

- Open the Settings
- Tap on System
- Tap on Languages & input
- Tap on Virtual keyboard
- Tap on Gboard
- Tap on Preferences
- Tap on Key long press delay
- Swipe left or right to set the long press delay
- Confirm with OK
Autospace after punctuation
To further increase the speed of text input, we can activate a keyboard function that automatically inserts a space after each punctuation mark.
For example, WhatsApp messages or e-mails can be typed much faster on the OnePlus smartphone.
Note: This feature is currently still in beta and only available for the US English keyboard.

- Open the Settings
- Tap on System
- Tap on Languages & input
- Tap on Virtual keyboard
- Tap on Gboard
- Tap on Text correction
- Enable or disable Autospace after punctuation
