Oppo 34Table of contents
Network mode
With the function "Preferred network type" we can choose which network mode the Oppo-Smartphone should choose. By network mode we mean the 2G, 3G, 4G and the 5G network. Depending on the equipment of the device the options can differ.

- Open the Settings
- Tap on SIM card & mobile data
- Choose desired SIM card
- Tap on Preferred Network Type
- Choose between 4G/3G/2G (Auto), 3G/2G (Auto) and 2G Only
Access Point Name (APN)
An access point is needed to send or receive SMS/MMS on the Oppo-Smartphone. Mobile data also needs a correctly configured access point. APN data is usually configured after dialing into the network, but can also be added manually.

- Open the Settings
- Tap on SIM card & mobile data
- Choose desired SIM card
- Tap on Access point name
- Tap on Add
- Set up APN and confirm with Save
Delete APN
Access points that are not required or incorrectly created (APN data) can be removed from the Oppo device at any time.

- Open the Settings
- Tap on SIM card & mobile data
- Choose desired SIM card
- Tap on Access point name
- Choose desired APN
- Tap on Delete APN
Select network automatically
By default the Oppo-Smartphone automatically searches for a network, but once the Automatic search has been deactivated to manually select the network, it can be reactivated in the settings.

- Open the Settings
- Tap on SIM card & mobile data
- Choose desired SIM card
- Tap on Carrier
- Enable Auto select
Select network manually
By default, Oppo-Smartphone automatically searches for a network. The criteria here are not only the home network, but also the quality of the network. In some cases, for example at the border or abroad, it makes sense to select the network manually.

- Open the Settings
- Tap on SIM card & mobile data
- Choose desired SIM card
- Tap on Carrier
- Disable Auto select
- Tap on Off
- Confirm with Off
- Choose desired Network
Private DNS
A private DNS is a function that enables an encrypted transmission from the Oppo smartphone to the Internet.
By default the DNS server (even if the function is set to Off) of your own network operator is used. We can instruct the Oppo-Smartphone to automatically use a private DNS or a DNS server specified by us.
Depending on the DNS server, this may cause connection problems, which is rare, but usually another DNS server will improve the network quality.

- Open the Settings
- Tap on Other Wireless Connections
- Tap on Private DNS
- Choose between Off, Auto and Designated private DNS
Virtual Private Network
with a VPN (Virtual Private Network) there are many possibilities to use it. besides the access within a network, it is also used on mobile devices for secure transmission and anonymous surfing. the complete data transmission is redirected via the VPN server, from where the access takes place. thus it is also possible to avoid geoblocking, for example.
To set up a VPN, it needs different data depending on the VPN server. To add a VPN on the Oppo, it needs at least a name and the server address. Depending on the VPN service, access data is also needed.

- Open the Settings
- Tap on Other Wireless Connections
- Tap on VPN
- Tap on Add
- Enter required VPN data and confirm with Save
