Create contact group

Contacts can be added to groups on the Samsung device. The group can be used to send group messages and group emails to the members of the group. You can also assign a ring tone to the group.

Android 10 (One UI 2.0)
Step 1:  Open the  Contacts -App
Step 2:  Open the  menu
Step 3:  Tap on  Groups
Step 4:  Tap on  Create group
Step 5:  Enter a  Group name
Step 6:  Tap on  Add member
Step 7:  Select all desired  contacts
Step 8:  Tap on  Done
Step 9:  Tap on  Save

  2. Open the menu
  3. Tap on Groups
  4. Tap on Create group
  5. Enter a Group name
  6. Tap on Add member
  7. Select all desired contacts
  8. Tap on Done
  9. Tap on Save

Custom ringtone for each group

On the Samsung device, individual ringtones can be set for individual contact groups. For example, if a contact in this group calls, the group ringtone will sound.

Even if a ring tone is set for the group, the ring tone of a contact is preferred.

Step 5:  Tap on  Edit
Step 6:  Tap on  Group ringtone
Step 7:  Choose desired  Ringtone
Step 8:  Tap on  Back
Step 9:  Confirm with  Save

Add members to group

In a contact group, we can add members both during creation and afterwards.

Step 3:  Tap on  Groups
Step 4:  Tap on desired  Group
Step 5:  Tap on  Edit
Step 6:  Tap on  Add member
Step 7:  Select all desired  Contacts
Step 8:  Tap on  Done
Step 9:  Confirm with  Save

Edit Contact Group

After creating a group, we can edit it on the Samsung device, rename it, add or remove members, or change the group sound.

Remove Member

Removing members from a contact group is as easy as adding them, but on the Samsung device, you must select the edit mode to remove members.

Step 4:  Tap on desired  Group
Step 5:  Tap on  Edit
Step 6:  Tap on  Remove

Rename Contact Group

You can change the name of self-created contact groups at any time in the app, but you cannot rename standard groups such as family, colleagues or friends.

Delete contact group

You can quickly and easily delete groups created on your Samsung device. You can choose to delete only the group or the group and its members. Selecting Group and members will remove the group and the stored contacts from the phone or location.

Note: The group "Emergency contacts" cannot be deleted.
