Confirm SIM card for calls
In addition to the standard SIM card for calls, we can also activate a function before each call, so we can choose which SIM card to use for each outgoing call.




- Open the Settings
- Tap on Connections
- Tap on SIM card manager
- Enable or disable Confirm SIM card for calls
Enable or Disable SIM card
For dual SIM devices, one or both SIM cards can be deactivated on the Samsung device, making the device unreachable under the phone number (the SIM card).

- Tap on Connections
- Tap on SIM card manager
- Tap on SIM 1/SIM 2
- Enable or disable the SIM card
SIM card Icon
Samsung's One UI allows dual SIM users to change the icon for the SIM cards. Samsung provides different colors and icons for this purpose. For example, there is an icon especially for a SIM card that is only used for mobile data use. In the same way, a SIM card can be marked as "Private" or "Office". The following types are available:
- SIM 1 (Blue)
- SIM 2 (light green)
- Call (Green)
- SMS (Brown)
- MMS (Red)
- Internet (light blue)
- Private (Lila)
- Office (Orange)
- Heart (Pink)







- Open the Settings
- Tap on Connections
- Tap on SIM card manager
- Tap on SIM 1/SIM 2
- Tap on Icon
- Choose the Icon you want
- Confirm with OK
Display name of SIM card
By default, Samsung calls the SIM cards "SIM 1" and "SIM 2", but in the SIM card management, the name of the SIM card can be renamed as desired.






- Open the Settings
- Tap on Connections
- Tap on SIM card manager
- Tap on SIM 1/SIM 2
- Tap on Name
- Change the Name and confirm with OK
Default SIM card for calls
By default, calls are made via SIM card 1, but the Samsung device can also be configured to use SIM card 2, or the device always makes a query before a call.
Note: The default SIM card for calls can also be changed via the status bar.





- Open the Settings
- Tap on Connections
- Tap on SIM card manager
- Tap on Calls
- Choose between Ask always, SIM 1 and SIM 2
Default SIM card for mobile data
Samsung devices use SIM card 1 for mobile data use by default. SIM card 2 can also be selected in the SIM card management. However, some Samsung devices only support fast LTE on SIM card 1.
Note: The default SIM card for mobile data can also be changed via the status bar.





- Open the Settings
- Tap on Connections
- Tap on SIM card manager
- Tap on Mobile data
- Choose between SIM 1, SIM 2 and Off
Default SIM card for Text messages
By default, the Samsung device sends messages (SMS) via SIM card 1, but you can also select SIM card 2 in the SIM card management settings.
Note: The default SIM card for SMS can also be changed via the status bar.





- Open the Settings
- Tap on Connections
- Tap on SIM card manager
- Tap on Text messages
- Choose between SIM 1 and SIM 2
