WiFi calling
If network reception or signal strength on the Xiaomi smartphone is weak, we can activate WiFi calls to make calls over an existing WiFi network. Wi-Fi calling must be supported by the respective network provider.
Note: If the function cannot be found under the SIM card settings, we can enable it by entering the following combination *#*#869434#*#*. This must be entered via the dial pad of the phone app.

- Open the Settings
- Tap on SIM cards & mobile networks
- Choose a SIM card
- Enable or disable Make calls using Wi-Fi
Proximity sensor
If the Xiaomi smartphone's screen doesn't turn off during a call, it's possible that we accidentally enable functions with the ear such as the speaker. To avoid this, we can activate the proximity sensor, which darkens or turns off the screen during a phone call.
Note: The function is not available on every Xiaomi model.

- Open the Phone app
- Open the Settings
- Tap on Incoming call settings
- Enable or disable Proximity sensor
Caller ID
Our own phone number is transmitted or sent to the caller by default. The Xiaomi smartphone uses the operator's default network setting for this. If desired, we can hide the phone number.
This setting is saved on the SIM card.

- Open the Phone app
- Open the Settings
- Tap on Advanced settings
- Tap on Caller ID
- Choose a SIM card (Dual SIM)
- Tap on Caller ID
- Choose Network default, Hide number or Show number
Change call waiting notification
We can set the call waiting notification on the Xiaomi smartphone in three different ways: either the notification tone is played twice or continuously, with the third setting playing the call waiting tone and vibrating twice.

- Open the Phone app
- Open the Settings
- Tap on Advanced settings
- Tap on Call waiting notification
- Choose Play notification sound continuously, Play notification sound twice or Play notification sound and vibrate twice
Block calls from hidden numbers
Anonymous calls cannot be blocked because the Xiaomi smartphone cannot assign the caller ID or identifier. However, there is a remedy for this, as the device can automatically block all unknown calls, rejecting the caller and not establish a connection.

- Open the Phone app
- Open the Settings
- Tap on Blocklist
- Tap on Call blocklist
- Enable or disable Block calls from hidden numbers
Flash for incoming calls
The LED flash on the back of the Xiaomi smartphone is not only intented for use with the camera or flashlight function, but also to activate a flash on incoming calls to provide additional visual notification of a call.

- Open the Phone app
- Open the Settings
- Tap on Incoming call settings
- Enable or disable Flash when ringing
Call fowarding
Call forwarding on the Xiaomi smartphone is set by default according to the network settings. Usually, calls are forwarded to the mailbox if "busy", "unanswered" or "unreachable".
Call forwarding can either be enabled or disabled for each case, or to any phone number.

- Open the Phone app
- Open the Settings
- Tap on Call forwarding settings
- Choose a SIM card (Dual SIM)
- Choose Always forward, When busy, When unanswered or When unreachable
- Enable or disable Call forwarding
Call barring
Call barring makes it possible to block calls when roaming is activated, for example.
In the same way, you can either block all incoming or outgoing calls on your Xiaomi smartphone. Call barring can be found in the phone settings, which has the following options:
- All outgoing calls
- International outgoing calls
- International outgoing calls except to home (PLMN)
- All incoming calls
- Allow incoming calls while roaming
Note: If dual SIM is used, we select the relevant SIM card first.
If a password is required, please request it from your network provider.

- Open the Phone app
- Open the Settings
- Tap on Advanced settings
- Tap on Call barring
- Choose a SIM card (Dual SIM)
- Enable or disable Call barring
- Enter the call barring password and tap OK
Missed call reminders
We can be reminded by the Xiaomi device if we have a missed call on the smartphone.
We can set how often the reminder is repeated from "1 time" to a maximum of "10 times".

- Open the Phone app
- Open the Settings
- Tap on Advanced settings
- Tap on Missed call reminders
- Enable or disable Missed call reminders
Call waiting
If a phone call is in progress and another call is received by the Xiaomi smartphone, a notification can be displayed. This is done both visually and acoustically.
In the phone settings, Call waiting can be switched on/off.
Note: When using Dual SIM, the call waiting function can be (de-)activated for each SIM card individually.

- Open the Phone app
- Open the Settings
- Tap on Call waiting
- Choose a SIM card (Dual SIM)
- Enable or disable Call waiting
Call recording
The Xiaomi smartphone comes with a feature to record phone calls or conversations, which is disabled by default, but can be enabled for all calls or selected numbers.
Note: Due to restrictions and data protection regulations, the function may not be guaranteed.

- Open the Phone app
- Open the Settings
- Tap on Call recording
- Enable or disable Record calls automatically
- Choose All numbers or Selected numbers
Auto-answer incoming calls
The Xiaomi smartphone can answer calls automatically, and if this feature is enabled, we can set a delay and whether all calls are always accepted automatically, only via Bluetooth or a headset.

- Open the Phone app
- Open the Settings
- Tap on Auto-answer
- Enable or disable Auto-answer
- Choose Always, Headset only and/or Bluetooth only
