Pairing
To use Bluetooth devices, such as headsets, headphones, or speakers with the Xiaomi smartphone, we first need to connect or pair the devices, and paired devices automatically reconnect the next time they are used.

- Open the Settings
- Tap on Bluetooth
- Choose an available device
- Confirm with Pair
Rename paired device
To keep track of all the paired Bluetooth devices on the Xiaomi smartphone, we can name each device individually, which is useful when some devices are stored with only one MAC address or model code.

- Open the Settings
- Tap on Bluetooth
- Open the devices settings
- Tap on Rename
- Enter a name and tap OK
Sending a file
We can send files, such as photos or videos, directly from our Xiaomi smartphone to paired devices via Bluetooth.
Note: In this manual we only send a random picture/photo to illustrate the procedure, other options are available.

- Choose a file
- Tap on Share
- Tap on Bluetooth
- Choose a Bluetooth device to send the file
Sharing contacts
If we connect the Xiaomi smartphone to the car, we can share the stored contacts via Bluetooth, for example, to use voice control from compatible car radios and dial contacts directly.

- Open the Settings
- Tap on Bluetooth
- Open the devices settings
- Enable or disable Contact sharing
Unpair
If we want to unpair to a Bluetooth device, for example because we no longer use it, we can do this in the Bluetooth settings; unpairing a device will delete the connection and would have to be restored when using it again with the Xiaomi smartphone.

- Open the Settings
- Tap on Bluetooth
- Open the devices settings
- Tap on Unpair
Turn on/off Bluetooth
For example, if we use Bluetooth headsets or speakers, we need to connect the devices together, and for this to happen, Bluetooth must be turned on.
Note: We can also turn Bluetooth on and off on the Xiaomi smartphone using the Quick Launch bar, but we recommend turning it off when not in use to conserve battery power.

- Open the Settings
- Tap on Bluetooth
- Enable or disable Bluetooth
Bluetooth-Tethering
As an alternative to USB tethering, the Xiaomi smartphone can also share an Internet connection via Bluetooth, for example by paired with a laptop and activating this function.
Note: If the device to be connected has a USB port, it is recommended to use USB tethering, as this function is more battery efficient.

- Open the Settings
- Tap on Connection & sharing
- Tap on Portable hotspot
- Enable or disable Bluetooth tethering
