Delete learned words and data

If we want to reset the keyboard and delete the learned words or data, we can find the appropriate function in the keyboard settings, somewhat hidden, which deletes all keyboard data on the Xiaomi smartphone, such as learned or frequently used words.

Step 1:  Open the  Settings
Step 2:  Tap on  Additional settings
Step 3:  Tap on  Languages & input
Step 4:  Tap on  Manage keyboards
Step 5:  Open the  Settings
Step 6:  Tap on  Advanced
Step 7:  Tap on  Delete learned words and data
Step 8:  Enter the displayed number and tap  OK

Manage personal dictionary

The dictionary on the Xiaomi smartphone is a feature that allows you to store words and assign a shortcut to them. If you type the shortcut or short command while writing text or messages, we get the word suggestion in the suggestion bar. Short sentences can also be stored and recalled via short command.

Note: We can select the desired keyboard language before creating our own shortcuts. If we want to use the command for any previously selected language of the keyboard, we can select "All Languages".

Pin the keyboard

We can pin the keyboard of the Xiaomi smartphone to one side, which means that the keyboard is completely attached to the left or right side of the Xiaomi smartphone, making it much more comfortable to use with just one hand. We can choose between Left-handed or Right-handed mode.

Share keyboard usage statistics

By default, Xiaomi smartphone keyboard usage statistics are sent to Google, but since this is all about privacy, we can enable or disable this option at any time.

Key long-press delay

The default duration of the keystroke until, for example, a symbol is inserted is exactly 300ms on the Xiaomi smartphone, and the duration can be set from a minimum of 100ms to a maximum of 700ms, depending on personal preferences.

Switch keyboard to dark theme in battery saver

If the Xiaomi smartphone's battery saver mode is activated, we can instruct the device to automatically activate dark mode for the keyboard to save energy.
