Change Navigation bar

In the Xiaomi smartphone settings, we can specify whether we want the App Toggle, Home, or Back buttons to appear, or whether we want to use gestures to control the device in full-screen mode. If the full-screen gestures are enabled, the following system navigation gestures apply

  • Return to home screen: Quickly wipe from the bottom to the top.
  • Open last apps (app toggle): Wipe from bottom to top and hold.
  • Back: Wipe from the left edge to the right edge, or vice versa, both are possible.

Step 2:  Tap on  Additional settings
Step 3:  Tap on  Full screen display
Step 4:  Choose  Buttons  or  Full screen gestures

Mirror buttons

If we use the display or navigation via keys on the Xiaomi smartphone, we can invert or mirror the arrangement of the keys, thus swapping the back key and the app toggle.

Step 3:  Tap on  Full screen display
Step 4:  Enable or disable  Mirror buttons

Disable navigation bar in apps

We can set the Navigation Buttons to be automatically disabled when we use certain apps on the Xiaomi smartphone. This feature is useful when you're playing games in full screen, for example, and don't want to accidentally tap a button. You can customize apps here.

Note: To reactivate the navigation key, we have to tap it twice.

Step 1:  Open the  Settings
Step 2:  Tap on  Additional settings
Step 3:  Tap on  Button shortcuts
Step 4:  Tap on  Automatically disable navigation buttons
Step 5:  Choose an  app
Step 6:  Choose  Ask to disable ,  Always disable  or  Never disable

  4. Tap on Automatically disable navigation buttons
  5. Choose an app
  6. Choose Ask to disable, Always disable or Never disable

Double-Check for the gestures

If full-screen gesture control is enabled on the Xiaomi smartphone, we can set whether gestures should be double-checked, which means that gestures need to be wiped twice. This feature is useful for full-screen games, or videos.

Step 4:  Enable or disable  Double check for the gestures

Go back to previous app

If we use the full-screen gestures on the Xiaomi smartphone, after activating this function, you can switch to the previous app by wiping from the left edge to the right and holding briefly, and the app icon will appear at the edge of the screen.

Step 3:  Tap on  Full screen display
Step 4:  Enable or disable  Go back to previous app
