Install Apps from unknown sources
If we want to install unknown apps on the Xiaomi smartphone, a general activation is no longer sufficient. from now on, every single app from which third-party applications are to be installed must be allowed. for example, if you download an .apk file via the Mi browser, it must have the necessary permission to install it.






- Open the Settings
- Tap on Privacy protection
- Tap on Special permissions
- Tap on Install unknown apps
- Choose an app
- Enable or disable Allow from this source
User experience program
If this feature is enabled on the Xiaomi smartphone, anonymous usage data is sent from the device to improve products and services.
Note: We recommend that you disable all user experience optimization services, as it is not possible to track exactly what data is sent where.

- Enable or disable User Experience Program
Privacy protection password
We can set a separate password on the Xiaomi smartphone to protect personal information by creating a pattern that will be linked to the Mi account, if any, in case we need to reset the privacy password at some point. We can also set
whether or not to use fingerprint as the unlock method. The privacy password can be set for the following areas:
- News
- Photos
- Files
- Notes

- Enter the current pattern, PIN or password and follow the instructions on screen
Show/Hide passwords
When entering passwords on the Xiaomi smartphone, the characters entered are displayed briefly as they are typed; this feature is similar to a small pop-up of the number you type and can be (de)activated at any time if desired.

Google Play Protect
The Google Play Protect feature protects the Xiaomi smartphone from malicious apps by scanning for malware before downloading and during installation, as well as periodically scanning apps from unknown sources.
In the event of a detection, a notification is displayed on the Xiaomi device, and depending on the severity of the malware, the app can also be automatically disabled by Play Protect until it is uninstalled.
Note: Google Play Protect is a feature of the Google Play App Store, so there is no direct option in the settings, only a link to the feature where it can be enabled or disabled.

- Confirm with Turn off
Find My Device
By enabling Find My Device, we can locate your Xiaomi smartphone in the event of loss or theft by typing Find My Device in the Google search bar from another device, such as a laptop or PC, signing in with your active Google Account, and then locating your lost phone.

Personalized ad recommendations
We can choose to display personalized advertising on the Xiaomi device, but if we choose to disable it, the number of banners will remain the same, but promotional offers will be less relevant and not tailored to our personal preferences and information.

Diagnostic data
If this feature is enabled, usage statistics of the Xiaomi smartphone, which may contain personal information, will be sent.
Note: We recommend that you deactivate all services related to "user experience optimization", as it is not possible to trace which data is sent exactly where.

Google Location History
Location History stores location data from the Xiaomi smartphone and sends it to Google for analysis and to provide us with personal suggestions for personalized maps and recommendations. The
feature also works in the background when no Google service is active. (De
)activation of this service is done directly in your Google Account.

- Tap on Google Location History
- Choose an account
- Enable or disable Location History
Emergency Location Service
When we make an emergency call or send an emergency text message from our Xiaomi smartphone, our current location is sent along with it to inform first responders and rescue workers so that help can arrive more quickly.
Note: If Emergency Location Service is disabled, your wireless carrier may share your location.
