Zooming in and out

We can also zoom in/out before taking photos on the Xiaomi smartphone by placing two fingers on the screen and pulling them apart to zoom in or placing two fingers on the screen and pinching them together to zoom out.

Note: Depending on the Xiaomi model and system, other zoom options are available, such as using the volume buttons. To do this, please enter the camera settings.

Taking a photo

How to take a photo with the Xiaomi smartphone's camera should be clear to everyone, but after setting additional options such as the color filter or independent focusing, we simply tap the shutter release button.

Delay-timer

The self-timer or delay-timer on the Xiaomi device, triggers the shutter after predefined seconds. We can choose between 3 or 5 seconds delay on the smartphone.

Switch between front and rear camera

If we want to take a picture of a selfie with the Xiaomi smartphone, all we have to do is tap the camera switch.
To help us in darker lighting conditions, the display of the device shines in white to simulate a camera flash for the upcoming selfie. Nevertheless, it should be noted that a well-lit environment is an important part of any photo or selfie.

Select camera filter

Before taking a photo, we can add a color filter on the Xiaomi smartphone, so whether it's "Vivid", "Amour", "Black & White" or "Sun", there's something for every situation.

Record a video

Videos can also be recorded with the Xiaomi smartphone. To do this, we simply swipe the camera mode to switch to the video function, and tap the shutter release or record button to start and stop recording.

Camera flash

We can turn the camera flash on the Xiaomi device permanently on or off, or set it to automatic. Then the smartphone will decide if a flash is needed for the given lighting conditions. To set this, we need to tap the flash icon in the camera app and enable the option.

Scan QR Code

Nowadays, we find QR codes almost everywhere, whether on food packaging or when franking our shipping service online. If we want to scan a QR code ourselves, we can use the Xiaomi smartphone's camera app directly without having to download a QR code scanner from the Play Store.

Note: Scanning is only possible from the main/rear camera of the Xiaomi device.

HDR

If we activate HDR (High Dynamic Range) on the Xiaomi smartphone, multiple images/photos are taken and combined into one, combining brightness levels to achieve the best possible quality.
