Content feed
After starting the browser-app of the Xiaomi smartphone, we immediately receive suggestions from YouTube, Facebook and possible subscriptions, and anyone who finds this too cluttered can deactivate the content feed at anytime.




- Open the Mi Browser app
- Tap on Profile
- Open the Settings
- Enable or disable Content feed
Reading mode
If we activate the reading mode on the Xiaomi smartphone, backgrounds and colors will be displayed warmer to protect the eyes and provide an eye-friendly browsing.
Note: In this guide we activate the reading mode and adjust the color value immediately.

- Enable or disable Reading mode
- Swipe left or right to adjust the intensity
Block pop-ups
When browsing the Internet on our Xiaomi smartphone, various pop-ups of different categories open up, the most annoying of them are banner ads.
We can disable pop-ups, but we should keep in mind that some websites and services use them.

Change the text size of web pages
We can change the text size of the visited web pages on the Xiaomi smartphone. The device offers the following five different levels of text size:

Automatic download of videos and images
By default, videos and images are automatically downloaded on the Xiaomi smartphone for fast operation while browsing in the internet. However, this has a negative effect on data consumption. We can counteract this problem by disabling the automatic downloading of videos. Content is only downloaded after tapping it.

Reader view
If we visit websites with the Xiaomi smartphone that offer a lot of content and textes, such as an online encyclopedia, we can activate the reader view to get a simplified view of the entire website.

Privacy and security settings
The Xiaomi smartphone's browser offers many privacy and security settings and the following features can be turned on/off as desired:
- Remember passwords
- Remember form data
- Accept cookies
- Show security warnings
- Personalised services
- Autocomplete searches and URLs
- Authorization
Note: In this manual we only deactivate the "Remember Passwords" function, other options are given and can be accessed in the same way.

Set start page
When opening the browser-app on the Xiaomi smartphone, the default home page with various shortcuts and services appears, which we can change and add a search engine like Google or Bing, for example.

Reduce data usage
This feature of the Xiaomi smartphone limits data consumption while browsing the internet.
Content such as videos are sometimes no longer played automatically, but only after being tapped, in order to keep consumption as low as possible, although this also depends on the websites visited.

Swiping from the edge
When we swipe from the right or left edge to the center of the Xiaomi smartphone's screen, by default we go back or forward one page, and we can set and change this feature to switch between tabs or disable it altogether.
