Xiaomi How to Manage Contact Groups

We can add the contacts on the Xiaomi smartphone to different groups, which allows us to send group messages. We can assign a different ringtone to each group so that we can tell from the ringing which one is calling, whether it's friends or work, for example. When creating a new group, we're asked if we want to save it locally only or sync it to our Google Account.

The groups created on the Xiaomi smartphone only make sense when you add contacts, which we can do either via the contact details, or via the group settings to select several.

We can assign the ringtone to a group on the Xiaomi smartphone itself, and if a contact in this group is or has been assigned their own ringtone, it will be prioritized.

Created groups can be easily removed from the Xiaomi device. Only the group without contacts is deleted, leaving them on the device.

Members of a group can be easily removed from the Xiaomi smartphone by simply tapping and holding the contact to remove it in the pop-up window that appears. The actual contacts are not deleted and remain in the contact list.

When creating a group on the Xiaomi smartphone, we immediately assign a name to it. If we want to change or edit it afterwards, we can do so at any time. The default groups, such as family, colleagues or friends cannot be renamed.
