Xiaomi How to Set up Interaction Accessibility Features

Touch & hold delay
On the Xiaomi smartphone, there are sub items or additional functions that we achieve by tapping and holding a control element. This reaction time can be configured in three stages (short/medium/long).
A very good example is tapping and holding an app shortcut on the home screen.






- Open the Settings
- Tap on Additional settings
- Tap on Accessibility
- Tap on Physical
- Tap on Touch & hold delay
- Choose Short, Medium or Long
Accessibility menu
On the Xiaomi smartphone, we can activate the accessibility menu separately, and then an additional element appears in the bottom right corner of the navigation bar.
Note: The element does not interfere with the operation of the smartphone in any way and can be accessed from any menu item.







- Open the Settings
- Tap on Additional settings
- Tap on Accessibility
- Tap on Accessibility menu
- Enable or disable Accessibility
- Tap on Allow
- Tap on Got it
Dwell timing
If the Xiaomi smartphone is used with a mouse, we can set the mouse to automatically activate or take action when it has not moved for a certain amount of time. We can use sliders to set the delay.

- Tap on Physical
- Tap on Dwell timing
- Enable or disable Accessibility
- Swipe left or right to set the delay before click
Switch access
Switch access allows people with motor disabilities to operate the Xiaomi smartphone and other mobile devices using one or more switches. Switches can be used to select items, scroll, enter text and more. Suitable devices can be connected via USB or be paired via Bluetooth.









- Open the Settings
- Tap on Additional settings
- Tap on Accessibility
- Tap on Physical
- Tap on Switch Access
- Enable or disable Accessibility
- Tap on Allow
- Choose USB switch or Bluetooth switch
- Tap on Next and follow the instructions on screen
Volume key shortcut to start accessibility feature
We can activate a key shortcut on the Xiaomi smartphone to get quick access to a function, such as TalkBack or color correction. To do this, we press both volume buttons for three seconds. We can determine whether this function is already allowed on the lock screen.
Note: In this guide we will enable the volume key shortcut, select a function and give permission to be available from the lock screen. The mentioned steps are for illustrative purposes only and can be skipped.
