OnePlus 447Table of contents
Auto sign-in
We can have our login information filled in automatically by the browser app on the OnePlus smartphone to bypass manual entry.
For this purpose, the user accounts or names and the corresponding password are saved and entered the next time the website is called up.

- Open the Chrome app
- Open the menu
- Open the Settings
- Tap on Passwords
- Enable or disable Auto Sign-in
Share location
By default, the browser app on the OnePlus smartphone will ask us if a web page is allowed to access our location, for example to provide us with search results in the vicinity.
You can also disable the location sharing option in the browser app at any time, which will block all requests.

- Open the Chrome app
- Open the menu
- Open the Settings
- Tap on Site settings
- Tap on Location
- Enable or disable Location

We can always view and manage the different permissions, such as requesting location or sending notifications, of web pages in the browser app of the OnePlus smartphone.
The following options, which can be allowed or denied, are available to us:
- Cookies

- Camera
- Microphone
- Motion sensors
- Notifications
- JavaScript
- Pop-ups and redirects

- Virtual reality
- Augmented reality

- Open the Chrome app
- Open the menu
- Open the Settings
- Tap on Site settings
- Select a function to enable or disable the respective access/use

JavaScript is a scripting language that serves as an extension for HTML and CSS and is required by today's websites to provide user-friendly navigation.
JavaScript can still be (de)activated in the browser app on the OnePlus smartphone at any time.

- Open the Chrome app
- Open the menu
- Open the Settings
- Tap on Site settings
- Tap on JavaScript
- Enable or disable JavaScript
Block pop-ups and redirects
Most pop-ups that open in the browser app on the OnePlus smartphone while navigating the Internet are now simple advertising banners or windows.
In order to facilitate the use and navigation of websites, we can block pop-ups and redirects directly, although it should be noted that some websites send pop-ups, for example, to enable successful login.

- Open the Chrome app
- Open the menu
- Open the Settings
- Tap on Site settings
- Tap on Pop-ups and redirects
- Enable or disable Pop-ups and redirects

When we navigate the Internet with the browser app on the OnePlus smartphone, we are sometimes inundated by advertisements or banners that are displayed or shown.
In order to make navigation a little more pleasant, some of the advertising can be blocked automatically.

- Open the Chrome app
- Open the menu
- Open the Settings
- Tap on Site settings
- Tap on Ads

Default homepage
When the browser or chrome app is started on the OnePlus smartphone, we receive a defined page with various accesses and current news topics.
In order to adapt the device and the use of the browser to our own needs, we can define the start page ourselves at any time.
Note: In order to quickly access the defined home page, simply tap the home icon in the upper left corner next to the search or address bar.

- Open the Chrome app
- Open the menu
- Open the Settings
- Tap on Homepage
- Check Enter custom web address
- Enter a web address
- Tap on Back
Desktop version
When browsing the Internet with the OnePlus smartphone, the visited web pages are displayed as a mobile version by default.
This is an optimized view, which on the one hand loads faster and reduces data consumption, and on the other hand is adapted to the screen size of a mobile device.
With the mobile view, it is possible that not all functions of the website are always available, which restricts navigation somewhat, as only the most important features are accessible.
In this case, the desktop view of a website can be requested at any time in order to be able to use all areas to the full extent.

- Open the Chrome app
- Open the menu
- Enable or disable Desktop site
Dark or light theme for browser app
Just like in the Contacts or Messages app on the OnePlus smartphone, we can set a light or dark design in the browser app, which is much easier on the eyes when navigating the Internet, where all light tones of the layout turn into a dark surface.
Note: In addition to activating the desired design, the system default setting can be set if a schedule of the dark design has already been programmed.

- Open the Chrome app
- Open the menu
- Open the Settings
- Tap on Theme
- Choose System default, Light or Dark
Incognito mode
The incognito mode in the browser app on the OnePlus smartphone allows you to surf the Internet privately.
A so-called incognito tab is opened, which is noticeable by a grey layout design and a mask symbol in the status bar.
After opening an incognito tab, a desired URL or search can be entered in the address bar and the normal browser functions can be used.
To end the incognito mode, all so-called incognito tabs must be closed, which can be done by displaying the tabs or by a note in the notification bar.
After closing all private tabs, the accumulated cookies, history, form and web page data entered will be deleted.

- Open the Chrome app
- Open the menu
- Tap on New incognito tab
Text scaling
The size of web page text is displayed in the browser app on the OnePlus smartphone at 100% by default, but can be changed at any time.
For this purpose we have a slider that allows text scaling of up to 200%.
Note: After zooming in, it must be checked whether the option "Activate zoom mandatory" is active.

- Open the Chrome app
- Open the menu
- Open the Settings
- Tap on Accessibility
- Swipe left or right to set the text scaling
- Make sure Force enable zoom is turned on
Default search engine
The default search engine in the browser app on the OnePlus smartphone is Google, which can be changed at any time according to your wishes or needs, for which we have the following options or search providers available:
- Yahoo!
- Bing
- DuckDuckGo
- Ecosia

- Open the Chrome app
- Open the menu
- Open the Settings
