Emergency contacts

If we have selected location transmission to emergency contacts as our preferred SOS action, the appropriate contacts should still be specified on the OnePlus smartphone.

In addition to the function that the selected contacts will receive an emergency SMS with their current location, they will be displayed on the lock screen to allow first responders and paramedics to call without having to unlock the device.

Step 1: Open the Settings
Step 2: Tap on Security & lock screen
Step 3: Tap on Emergency rescue
Step 4: Tap on Edit emergency information and contacts
Step 5: Tap on Add contact
Step 6: Choose a contact

Emergency information

We can enter emergency information on the OnePlus smartphone, which can be seen in the lock screen, without having to unlock the device, in order to leave brief information in case of an emergency, for example about previous illnesses, which can give first responders or ambulances or paramedics a brief overview of their own illness situation.

The following information can be left behind:

  • Name
  • Address
  • Blood type
  • Allergies
  • Medications
  • Medical notes
  • Organ donor

Step 3: Tap on Emergency rescue
Step 4: Tap on  Edit emergency information and contacts
Step 5: Choose a  category  and add the medical information

Power button for quick SOS

We can activate a fast SOS on the OnePlus smartphone that immediately dials the local emergency number as soon as the on/off button is pressed in quick succession.

To activate the fast SOS or emergency call, we have the choice between the following options, whereby the camera quick start is deactivated via the on/off button to ensure proper function:

  • Quickly press the power button for 3 times for SOS
  • Quickly press the power button for 5 times for SOS

Note: In addition to the default setting "Call local emergency number", we can also release the location for the defined emergency contacts.
