OnePlus How to Set up Screen Lock

The activated screen lock on the OnePlus smartphone can be deactivated at any time.
When the screen lock is disabled, all biometric data is erased and fingerprint or face unlock is disabled.

To disable the screen lock, the current unlock method (pattern/PIN/password) is required.

Note: Once the screen lock has been deactivated, the OnePlus smartphone is no longer protected against unauthorized access. Unauthorized access to, for example, app data, contacts, messages, photos or videos in the gallery app is always possible.

To protect our stored data, such as contacts, SMS messages, photos or videos on the OnePlus smartphone from unauthorized access, we can always set up a screen lock, which is requested each time the device is unlocked.

We can choose between the following methods of unlocking the screen lock:

• Swipe (No Protection)
• Pattern
• PIN
• Password

After setup, we are also asked if all content should be displayed on the lock screen or if sensitive content should be hidden.

Device models with a fingerprint sensor can also be unlocked without entering the unlocking method (pattern/PIN/password).

This is done by enrolling a fingerprint, which is later scanned for authentication and allows access to the OnePlus smartphone.

The fingerprint can also be used for other functions, such as Google Pay or to authorize purchases, as it allows quick verification of the device administrator.

Note: To enable fingerprint unlocking, we must first set a screen lock with a pattern, PIN or password.

In addition to unlocking using the fingerprint ID or by entering a specified unlocking method (pattern/PIN/password), the OnePlus smartphone can also be unlocked using face recognition (Face Unlock).
For this purpose, biometric face data is registered via the front camera.

Note: For environments with low light conditions, supportive lighting can also be activated to brighten the screen for better face recognition.

To activate Face Unlock, a valid unlock method is required.
