OnePlus How to Set up Wi-Fi Hotspot

The OnePlus smartphone can serve as a personal WiFi hotspot to provide an Internet connection to other devices such as PCs, laptops, tablets or smartphones.

For security reasons, we can assign a personal name and password to the private WiFi hotspot, thus protecting the hotspot from unauthorised access by third parties.

All smartphones support the Wi-Fi band below 2.4 GHz, while newer devices also support 5.0 GHz, which guarantees significantly faster data throughput, but has to make some concessions in the range.

The personal Wi-Fi hotspot on the OnePlus smartphone offers a choice of 2.4 or 5.0 GHz, and depending on which devices connect, we can use 5.0 GHz for faster network transmission.

The OnePlus smartphone's personal Wi-Fi hotspot can be configured with its own network name and a password that you set yourself to prevent unauthorized third-party access.
It does not matter what your own hotspot is called or whether the password consists only of numbers or letters in upper and lower case.

The OnePlus smartphone can automatically deactivate the personal Wi-Fi hotspot if no other devices such as laptops, tablets or smartphones are connected after 5 minutes to save battery power.

The automatic deactivation only takes effect if there is no device in the network of the personal hotspot. As long as at least one device is connected, it remains active.
