Xiaomi Redmi 8A Very slow charging/Not detecting charger cable

My phone stopped detecting the charger cable. The ampere app detects a very small charge (10-100 mA) which does charge the phone by about 1% every hour and a half or so, but this is far below what it should be. I havnt dropped the phone or gotten it wet, one day it just stopped detecting the cable and charging like normal. Ive tested the actual cable on my friends phone, and it works fine, and Ive tested his cable on my phone and it doesnt work. I have tried cleaning the charger port, making sure all background apps are off, rebooting it, but nothing seems to help. Ive only had this phone about a month and a half, and this is the second time ive encountered this problem with a Redmi 8A (I sent the first phone back after it did this exact problem within the first week and they sent me a replacement). I dont know what else to try before sending it back again, but any suggestions are welcome, thanks.
