Samsung How to Set up Face Recognition
Samsung 813Table of contents
Require Open eyes
for added security, it is recommended that you only allow the face to be unlocked with your eyes open. the feature is usually enabled by default on Samsung devices. if this is not the case or if the feature is not desired, it can be enabled or disabled in the security settings

- Open the Settings
- Tap on Biometrics and security
- Tap on Face recognition
- Enter PIN/Pattern/Password
- Enable or disable Require open eyes
Alternative look
Unlike the fingerprint sensor, facial recognition is somewhat problematic because, unlike fingerprints, our appearance can vary from day to day, and whether it's a three-day beard, glasses, hat, body jewelry, or other accessories, they can cause facial recognition to fail.
To counteract this we can add an alternative look.

- Open the Settings
- Tap on Biometrics and security
- Tap on Face recognition
- Enter PIN/Pattern/Password
- Tap on Add alternative look
- Tap on Continue
Faster recognition
in the security settings of the Samsung device, the "Faster recognition" function is enabled for face recognition. this improves the speed of recognition but reduces security. this means that face recognition can also incorrectly be performed by a photo or video of the person. this can happen even if the function is disabled, but the risk is much lower.

- Open the Settings
- Tap on Biometrics and security
- Tap on Face recognition
- Enter PIN/Pattern/Password
- Enable or disable Faster recognition
Brighten screen
When the Samsung device is used in the dark, the screen is temporarily brightened to make the face easier to see, but the "brighten screen" function can also be disabled in the face recognition settings.

- Open the Settings
- Tap on Biometrics and security
- Tap on Face recognition
- Enter PIN/Pattern/Password
- Enable or disable Brighten screen
Stay on Lock screen
If face detection is enabled to unlock the lock screen, the Samsung device will by default stay on the lock screen when the registered face has been detected. A simple wipe is now enough to unlock the device.
In the security settings of the Samsung device, we can disable the option "Stay on lock screen" to go directly to the last screen used after unlocking.

- Open the Settings
- Tap on Biometrics and security
- Tap on Face recognition
- Enter PIN/Pattern/Password
- Enable or disable Stay on Lock screen
Remove Face data
If we no longer need facial recognition or our appearance has changed fundamentally, we can remove facial data, thereby removing the biometric data (face) and deactivating facial recognition.

- Open the Settings
- Tap on Biometrics and security
- Tap on Face recognition
- Enter PIN/Password/Pattern
- Tap on Remove face data
- Confirm with Remove
