there are many possibilities to transfer files from your Xiaomi to your laptop. You can connect your device via USB to the laptop, then open the Xiaomi folder and drag & drop all the files you want on your laptop, or you can use the app AirDroid that only needs you to be in the same internet network as your laptop.
