When I get an incoming call on my Cubot J7 phone, it does not display the incoming caller ID.

Nothing at all appears on the display (apart from the tiny 'phone' symbol right at the top of the display).

I don't get any 'answer' options, so I cannot answer nor reject the call.

This happens whether the phone is locked or unlocked.

I am running Android version 9.

Hello wolosp!

You could try clearing the cache of the phone app.

You could also tell us if this happens with incoming WhatsApp-calls too.

Greetings!

Thanks for your reply.

No, it only happened when I received normal (cel) phone calls - WhatsApp calls were ok.  I've found the fix though -clic
See Method 2: (For Android Pie-based Phones)Step 1: Go to App Info of Phone Dialer app and tap on Notifications.Step 2: Tap on the ‘Incoming Calls’ option and then on behavior.Step 3: Now tap on ‘Behaviour’.Step 4: Ensure that the notification priority is set to urgent or “Make sound and pop up”.

All is now ok.

Why on earth was the default setting 'show silently and minimise'? !!!

Hello wolosp!

Thank you very much for your answer with the solution!

I don't know why this is set as standard...?!

Greetings!
