WLAN networks have the problem that the data consumption of the LG device increases very quickly. This is because the device assumes that a WLAN connection does not incur any direct costs. At first glance, this is correct, but not in the case of chargeable WLAN packages such as those available in hotels, cruise ships or airports. A WLAN package with a volume of a few MB can quickly be used up in a few hours.

To prevent this from happening, the LG device has a "Restrict networks" function. If this is activated, the WLAN connection is equated with the mobile data connection. If, for example, the setting "Download only via WLAN" is activated in an app like Spotify, nothing happens due to the network restriction.
