Add a new Contact

In the address book (contacts app), you can add new contacts as well as existing ones. In addition to name and phone number, you can add a lot of other information such as place of work, e-mail, address, date of birth (displayed in the calendar), relationship, website or memos. You can also set a different ringtone for each individual contact.

Contacts can be stored in different locations depending on the features of your Samsung device, including your Samsung or Google account, SIM card (SIM 1/SIM 2) or phone memory.

Step 1:  Open the  Contacts -App
Step 2:  Tap on  Add
Step 3:  Select the desired  storage location
Step 4:  Choose between  Just once  or  Set as default
Step 5:  Enter all desired Contact  details  and confirm with  Save

Add contact to favorites

Favourites are displayed at the top of the Contacts app on your Samsung device, but it's not only in the Contacts app that favourites are placed at the top of the list; they are also displayed in the Phone app, for example.

The instructions show how to add a contact to the favorites and how to remove the contact from the favorites.

Step 2:  Tap on desired  Contact
Step 3:  Tap on  Favorite

Block or Unblock a Contact

Saved contacts can be blocked, which means no more calls or messages are allowed. blocked contacts are still displayed in the list and cannot be hidden. alternatively, the phone number can be blocked, which is not visible in the contact list and has the same function.

Step 1:  Open the  Contacts -App
Step 2:  Tap on desired  Contact
Step 3:  Open the  menu
Step 4:  Tap on  Block contact / Unblock contact
Step 5:  Confirm with  Block

Delete a contact

Android 10: With Android 10 (One UI 2) contacts can be deleted, but are still in the trash for a few days, so deleted contacts can be restored.

Android 9: Saved contacts can be deleted directly from the Samsung device, even if they were saved in the Samsung or Google account. If a contact is deleted, it cannot be restored.

Step 3:  Tap on  Delete
Step 4:  Tap on  Move to Recycle bin
