Fingerprint Setup
most Samsung devices (with the exception of the cheapest entry-level devices) have a fingerprint sensor built in that can be used to unlock the device. setting up the display lock with fingerprint always requires a secondary lock such as a PIN, password or pattern. even if these are hardly ever or never used, they should be well remembered. if the fingerprint cannot be scanned or the security settings need to be changed, the PIN/password/pattern is required. any finger can be used to set up the fingerprint.

- Open the Settings
- Tap on Biometrics and security
- Tap on Fingerprints
- Enter PIN/Password/Pattern
- Confirm with Ok
- Press your finger on the sensor
- Choose between Add and Done
Rename Fingerprint
Newly added fingerprints are stored with a consecutive number (fingerprint 1, fingerprint 2, ...) If several fingerprints are stored, for example from different people, we can rename the stored fingerprints on the Samsung device.

- Open the Settings
- Tap on Biometrics and security
- Tap on Fingerprints
- Enter PIN/Password/Pattern
- Tap on desired Fingerprint
- Rename the Fingerprint and tap on Save
Remove fingerprint
Fingerprints that are not required should be removed from the Samsung device for security reasons. Special techniques can also be used to trick the fingerprint sensor. The more fingerprints that are registered, the easier it is for unauthorised persons to obtain a matching fingerprint.

- Open the Settings
- Tap on Biometrics and security
- Tap on Fingerprints
- Enter PIN/Password/Pattern
- Tap on desired Fingerprint
- Tap on Remove
- Confirm with Remove
