Pop-up notifications

Depending on the model and version number, apps on the Samsung device can send so-called pop-up notifications, which are displayed above all other content for a few seconds. If this is explicitly desired or not desired, the pop-up notification can be activated or deactivated for each app.

Show notification again later

notifications can be hidden on the Samsung device and displayed again after a desired time. we can choose a time of 15/30 minutes or 1/2 hours. after the timer expires, the notification will be displayed to us again as normal (with sound, effect, etc.)

App icon badges for individual app

We can always turn the app icon indicator on the home screen on/off or we can turn it on for each individual app.

Notification sounds for individual apps

In contrast to the normal Android, on Samsung devices with One UI, the notification sound can be changed for each individual app, but this only works if the app requests appropriate rights for notifications. For example, the notification sound cannot be changed generally for (Facebook) Messenger, but must be changed individually for all notification types (chats and calls, group chat, stories, ...). In addition to the notification sound, the vibration or the display of a pop-up window can also be adjusted.

Note: To change the notification tone of an app, it must not be muted, and the app must have changed a notification before.

Notification

Apps are allowed to display notifications on the Samsung device by default. The notifications can be turned off for an app either completely or in individual areas. For example, for WhatsApp, notifications for group messages can be turned off via the app settings. Each app offers its own setting options for this purpose, but they can all be found under Notifications.

Flash Notification

Depending on the smartphone model, notifications are indicated by the notification LED on the front of the Samsung device. Alternatively or additionally, the receipt of a new notification can also be indicated by the flashing of the camera flash. Flash notification is deactivated by default and can be found deep in the settings.

Silence Notification from Individual Apps

usually apps are displayed both audibly and visually on the samsung device. we can also choose to mute notifications of an app. no sound and no icon on the lock screen. the notification is only visible in the notification field (status bar). in addition, we can also choose to display it minimized.

Notification Reminder

when a new notification is received, it is announced once on the Samsung device with a tone and/or vibration, depending on the sound mode. with the "notification reminder" function, you can set an interval that reminds you of the new notification at regular intervals. the reminder can be activated either for calls and messages only or for all/selected apps.
