Unmount SD Card

If we want to use the memory card in another device, such as a laptop, it is a good idea to eject it on the Xiaomi smartphone, which will disconnect all connections to and from the memory card to prevent data loss.

Android 10 (MIUI 11.0)
Step 1:  Open the  Settings
Step 2:  Tap on  About phone
Step 3:  Tap on  Storage
Step 4:  Tap on  Unmount SD card

  4. Tap on Unmount SD card

Mount SD Card

The Xiaomi smartphone automatically recognizes and releases SD cards for use, but if the SD card has been ejected, it must be made available again.

Android 10 (MIUI 11.0)
Step 1:  Open the  Settings
Step 2:  Tap on  About phone
Step 3:  Tap on  Storage
Step 4:  Tap on  Mount SD card
Step 5:  Confirm with  Mount

  4. Tap on Mount SD card
  5. Confirm with Mount

Format SD Card

When a new SD card is inserted into the Xiaomi smartphone, it is best to format it, which will delete existing files and create any directories that may be needed.

Note: Formatting erases all data and is not recoverable.

Step 5:  Confirm with  Format SD card
