Background Data

Apps are allowed to access the mobile data on the LG smartphone in the background, which is generally called background data. if an app is not actively used, it can still use the Internet in this case.

To ensure that an app can only use the mobile data when it is actually in use, the background data must be restricted.

Note: Due to the restriction of the background data, no notifications can be displayed, for example.

On the LG smartphone, apps can be granted permission to change system settings, but this only affects superficial settings such as ring tone, backgrounds, etc.

For more in-depth setting options, the app must be defined as a device administrator.

The picture-in-picture function can be allowed or blocked on the LG smartphone via the respective app settings.

If the picture-in-picture button is not available in the settings, the function is not supported by the app.

Background activity

Many apps continue to run on the LG even when they are no longer actively used. in some cases this may make sense, but in others it doesn't. If apps continue to run in the background, it can not only result in a constant data consumption, but also in a higher battery consumption. In addition to exiting apps manually, a setting (but for each individual app) can be activated on the LG smartphone that limits the background activity of the app.

Note: The app may not be able to work properly or send notifications.

Screen Overlay

Facebook's Messenger is a good example of the "Draw over other apps" function. here, the app on the LG smartphone has the authorization to show itself on top of other apps. the form in which this is done depends on the app itself. apps can show themselves on top of other apps with a small pop-up, a video player or, as in the example, a round circle with profile photos of the individual chats.

By default, apps on the LG device are allowed to show themselves over others, but this can also be disabled.
