Background activity
apps may also be active in the background on the Samsung device, which puts a strain on the battery. in order to extend the battery life, there is the option of preventing background activity. if the app is no longer actively used, it may not run to its full extent (restrictions on notifications, updating, playback, etc.)

- Open the Settings
- Tap on Apps
- Tap on desired App
- Tap on Battery
- Enable or disable Allow background activity
App Permissions
Apps that have been newly installed on the Samsung device do not have access or permissions to execute a function on the device or to access the general memory by default. Only when the app or a function within the app is started for the first time is a permission request made. In addition to the requests, you can also subsequently allow or block the app permissions. This includes, among other things
- Calendar
- Camera
- contacts
- Microphone
- SMS
- Memory
- Location
- Phone
- Body sensors
- Caller list
- Chat messages (read/enter)
- Vehicle information

- Open the Settings
- Tap on Apps
- Open the menu
- Tap on Permission manager
- Tap on desired Permission
- Tap on desired App
- Tap on Allow or Deny
Full screen mode
Normally, Samsung devices display apps in full screen, meaning that the apps are aligned to the full width/length of the screen. However, stretching the screen content can sometimes cause problems, and we cannot disable full screen display. We can only instruct the Samsung device to explicitly select full screen mode so that no black areas appear around the app.
Note: If the notch or camera detail is disturbing, it can also be hidden.

- Open the Settings
- Tap on Display
- Tap on Full screen apps
- Tap on desired App
- Tap on Full screen

- Tap on Special access
- Tap on Change system settings
- Enable or disable desired App
Picture-in-Picture
On the Samsung device, we can grant or revoke permission for apps to create a picture-in-picture window and let other apps show it, so for example videos/movies can still be viewed in a small window when the app is closed.

- Tap on Apps
- Open the menu
- Tap on Special access

on the samsung device we can give an app the permission (appear on top) to show itself over other apps. a well-known example is the messenger of facebook. the chat icons always lay over other apps. if this is not desired, we could disable it in the settings. samsung called the function "Appear on top", different from the usual android function.
