Corrupt stock rom?

Hello one and all,

I flashed a stock rom for a friend who had forgotten his login pattern and am left with some Chinese characters in the top right hand corner of the screen; 2 lines - top one has 3 Chinese characters followed by "tee key" and the same characters on the second line followed by "google key".

I have re-flashed the rom with a different copy and still have the same result.

Please help me.
