    Hi Milly. Have a look at the settings of WhatsApp itself, where you can also enable/disable notifications.

    Hi yes all that is switched off as I require it,it's the actual settings on phone that won't stay as I set them.I set notification to silent and dot only yet it switches itself back to notification sound on by itself.

    I think this is a system error, if the error still persists after emptying the cache, a factory reset might help.
