Unrestricted Data Access for Apps
If a messaging or sync app on your Huawei phone only updates over Wi-Fi and stays silent on mobile data, background data restrictions are usually the cause. EMUI applies data-saving rules per app, which can delay notifications or block downloads until you open the app manually. Unrestricted data access removes that limit for individual apps.

Trying to install an APK outside the AppGallery or Play Store often gets blocked by a security warning on Huawei phones. This happens because the permission to install apps from external sources is switched off for each app individually.
