Add a Printer Manually via IP Address
If your Huawei phone lists no printers during the network scan, the WLAN or WiFi Direct discovery has failed to reach the device. This happens on isolated subnets, guest networks, or with printer models that block broadcast discovery. Adding the printer by its IP address skips the automatic search entirely.
Rearrange Quick Settings Icons
Digging through the full settings menu just to toggle Wi-Fi or flashlight gets old fast. If the icons in your quick settings panel are in the wrong order or the ones you actually use are buried on a second screen, a quick edit fixes that. Here is how the panel behaves and what you can change without breaking anything.
Set the Date Manually
If your Huawei phone keeps resetting the date after every reboot or shows the wrong day, the automatic network sync is likely still active. Manual changes to the date only stick once you switch off this automatic setting first.
Restore Archived Conversations
A conversation disappears from the main inbox in Messages, but nobody deleted it - that usually means it landed in the Archive instead. Archived chats stay hidden from the default list until you pull them back manually, which is easy to miss if you don't know where to look.
Set Date & Time Automatically
If your Huawei phone shows the wrong time after switching networks or traveling, the automatic clock sync may be pulling incorrect data from your carrier. By default the device fetches time, date and time zone straight from the mobile network, which can fail with a weak signal or a foreign SIM. Turning off the automatic setting lets you enter the correct values yourself.
Power Off Your Smartphone
If Do Not Disturb, Sleep Time or Concentration Mode is active, the regular power-off screen on your Huawei phone can feel stuck or unresponsive. These focus modes only silence notifications, they do not stop background apps and services from running, which is why an occasional full shutdown still matters.
Set the Screen Sleep Timer
If your Huawei screen turns off too fast or stays on way longer than you want, the sleep timer is set to the wrong value. This setting controls how long the display stays lit before it locks itself, and a mismatch here drains battery or forces you to keep waking the phone. It gets more annoying if fingerprint or password unlock is active, since every accidental lock means unlocking again.
Enable or Disable USB Debugging
If MyPhoneExplorer won't sync contacts with your Huawei phone, or a rooting tool can't detect the device over USB, USB debugging is usually still switched off in Developer options. This mode lets a connected computer send direct commands to the phone, which most rooting and sync tools actually need to work. Leaving it enabled permanently is a security risk, since anyone with physical access to the unlocked phone gets deeper system access.
Restart the smartphone
If your Huawei phone feels sluggish, a pending update wont finish installing, or apps stop responding, a full restart is often the fastest fix. EMUI keeps background processes and cached data running until you force a reboot, which frees memory and closes anything blocking a clean installation.
