Huawei: Add Emergency Contacts for SOS

When Emergency SOS gets turned on for the first time on a Huawei phone, EMUI only sets up one emergency contact by default. If a fall or crash triggers an SOS alert later, that single contact might not be the person who can respond fastest. Many users never notice that up to three emergency contacts can actually be stored.

Add Emergency Contacts auf Huawei

Turning on Emergency SOS for the first time on a Huawei phone stores exactly one emergency contact. That single contact is picked automatically and does not reflect who should really be alerted in a crisis, such as a family member close by or a neighbor.

EMUI lets you manage this list manually and add up to two more people, for a maximum of three emergency contacts. Each of them can receive your location and an alert if Emergency SOS gets triggered.

To add more contacts, open SettingsSecurityEmergency SOSEmergency contacts. From there, add any additional contact from your phone book, up to the limit of three.

If no extra contacts get added, only the original default contact stays informed during an SOS event. This matters most for shared or newly set up phones, where the automatically chosen contact may no longer be correct.
