Enable or Disable App Icon Badges auf Huawei
App icon badges are the small numbers or dots that appear on an app icon to show unread notifications. On Huawei phones running EMUI, this behavior is controlled separately from the notification shade itself, so you can turn badges off for an app while still receiving its notifications.
To change this, open Settings ➔ Notifications ➔ App icon badges. From here you get a list of installed apps, each with its own switch.
Turn off the switch for an app to stop its icon from showing any badge, no matter how many unread items pile up. Leave it enabled if you want a quick visual count without opening the app or pulling down the notification tray.
This is useful for apps that generate frequent low-priority alerts, such as social media or shopping apps, where a constant badge count becomes distracting. For apps where you need an at-a-glance reminder, like Messages or Email, keeping the badge active saves you from missing something important.
If badges still appear after disabling them here, check that the app itself has notification permissions enabled, since a fully blocked app may behave differently from one with badges simply turned off.
