Huawei: Change the App Lock PIN or Password

The App Lock PIN protects individual apps and runs independently from the screen lock code on your Huawei phone. EMUI stores both codes separately, so changing your screen lock password never touches the App Lock code, and updating App Lock never touches the screen lock.

To change it, open Settings ➔ Security ➔ App Lock. Enter your current App Lock PIN when prompted, then tap the Settings icon inside App Lock.

Select Password type and follow the on-screen instructions to set a new PIN or switch to a pattern or password. The change applies immediately to every app you already added to App Lock.

You need the current App Lock code to reach this menu. If you forgot it, EMUI usually offers a recovery option tied to your Huawei ID or a security question instead of a direct change, so try that route before considering a factory reset.

Keep in mind both codes work as separate security layers. Plan to update your screen lock password and your App Lock PIN as two different tasks whenever you review your phone security.
