Huawei: Block a Contact for Calls and Messages

Blocking a contact on EMUI stops both incoming calls and messages from that number without deleting the contact entry itself. The block is handled by the Contacts app rather than a separate security tool, so it applies system-wide to calls and SMS from that person.

To block someone, open Open the Contacts app ➔ Choose a contact ➔ Tap on More ➔ Tap on Block contact. Once confirmed, calls from that number go straight to rejection and messages are filtered out silently.

This is useful for persistent spam callers, unwanted personal contacts, or numbers that keep messaging you after you have asked them to stop. It does not affect other messaging apps installed separately, since the block only covers native calls and SMS/MMS.

If you want to silence someone temporarily instead of permanently, muting notifications for that conversation is a lighter option. Blocking is the better choice when you want no contact at all, including no missed-call notification.
