Huawei: Enable or Disable Bluetooth Tethering

Bluetooth tethering lets your Huawei phone share its mobile data connection with another device over a paired Bluetooth link, without a USB cable or a visible Wi-Fi hotspot broadcasting nearby. This is useful when you want to give a laptop temporary internet access without announcing an open hotspot to everyone around you.

On EMUI, this toggle sits inside the mobile network settings rather than on the main hotspot page, which is why it often gets overlooked. It only becomes useful once your Huawei phone has already been paired with the target device through Bluetooth.

To turn it on or off:

Open the settings ➔ Tap on Mobile network ➔ Tap on Tethering & portable hotspot ➔ Activate or deactivate Bluetooth tethering

Bluetooth tethering moves data much slower than USB tethering or a Wi-Fi hotspot, so it suits light browsing, messaging, or email rather than large downloads or streaming. If you need higher speeds, switch to USB tethering or the mobile hotspot instead. Leaving Bluetooth tethering active in the background drains the battery on both connected devices faster than standby, so switch it off again once the shared session is done.
