Huawei: Turn Bluetooth On or Off

Can't pair your Bluetooth headset or speaker? Your Huawei phone will not find any nearby devices until Bluetooth is switched on. Leaving it running when you are not using it also drains the battery faster and keeps the radio searching for connections in the background.

Turn Bluetooth On or Off auf Huawei

Bluetooth on your Huawei phone stays switched off by default to save battery. If a headset, speaker or car system will not pair, the radio itself is usually just disabled rather than broken.

To turn it on or off, go to Open the settingsTap on BluetoothActivate or deactivate Bluetooth. The same toggle also controls whether your phone is visible to other devices for pairing.

You do not always need the full settings menu. Pulling down the quick settings panel from the top of the screen gives you a Bluetooth icon that switches it on or off in one tap, which is faster once a device is already paired.

Leaving Bluetooth active all day is not dangerous, but it does mean your phone keeps scanning for nearby devices. If you only use it occasionally, switching it off afterwards saves noticeable battery over a full day and stops other devices from trying to connect automatically.

If pairing still fails after Bluetooth is confirmed on, the issue is usually with the other device or an old pairing entry rather than this setting.

Frequently asked questions

Make sure the headset itself is in pairing mode, since Bluetooth only scans for devices that are actively broadcasting. Also check under Open the settingsTap on Bluetooth whether an old entry for the same headset is still listed and remove it before pairing again.
