Browse Photos with the Fingerprint Sensor auf Huawei
If swiping left or right on the fingerprint sensor does not scroll through your photos, the Browse photos function is likely switched off. This gesture is managed separately from the Gallery app, so enabling it inside the Gallery settings has no effect.
The setting lives inside the Fingerprint ID menu of EMUI. Once turned on, a horizontal swipe across the sensor moves to the next or previous photo, which is useful when the screen is wet, gloved, or when you want a quick one-handed swipe without touching the display.
To turn it on:
Open the Settings ➔ Tap on Biometrics & password ➔ Tap on Fingerprint ID ➔ Enable or disable Browse photos
After enabling it, open any photo in full-screen view and swipe across the sensor rather than the screen. Nothing happens if the photo is still loading thumbnails or if you are viewing a screenshot preview from a notification, since those do not count as a full gallery session.
If the sensor still ignores the gesture, check whether the fingerprint sensor itself responds to unlock attempts. A sensor that fails to register touches at all points to a hardware or driver issue rather than a setting problem.
