Camera audio control on Huawei phones lets the shutter react to sound instead of a tap. Once switched on, the camera listens for either the word Cheese or any sufficiently loud noise and fires automatically, which is useful for group shots, selfies at arm's length, or tripod setups where reaching the shutter button is awkward.
The setting sits inside the camera app itself, not in the general system settings. To find it: Open Camera ➔ Open the settings ➔ Tap on Audio control ➔ Activate or deactivate Audio control. Once activated, you choose between Say cheese to take photos or Speak loudly to take photos.
Say cheese only reacts to that specific phrase, which avoids false triggers from background chatter. Speak loudly reacts to any raised voice or noise above a certain volume, which works faster in group settings but can misfire near traffic, music, or a crowded room.
If your camera has started taking photos on its own during video calls or in loud environments, audio control is almost always the cause. Turning the toggle off in the same menu stops the behavior immediately, and the shutter button returns to being the only trigger.
