Change Default Search Engine auf Huawei
On Huawei phones running EMUI, the search engine used for address-bar queries is controlled entirely by the Browser app, not by a system-wide Android setting. Google is preselected during setup, which is why typing a term into the address bar always returns Google results, even if you prefer Bing or Qwant.
The relevant option sits inside the app's own settings menu, separate from the general phone Settings app. That separation is the main reason people struggle to find it: searching your phone settings for 'search engine' returns nothing useful.
To change it, open Open the Browser app ➔ Open the menu ➔ Open the Settings ➔ Tap on Search engine ➔ Choose the search engine. Selecting a different provider here only changes address-bar and in-app searches inside the Browser app itself.
Other apps with their own built-in search, such as a dedicated Google app widget, keep using their own configured engine regardless of this change. If you rely on voice search or a home-screen search widget, expect those to remain on Google unless they offer a separate setting.
