Change SIM PIN auf Huawei
Every SIM card leaves the factory with a provider-assigned PIN. On EMUI that code stays valid until you change it yourself in the security settings, which is why many Huawei phones still run on a PIN nobody chose on purpose.
The SIM PIN is not the same as your screen lock. It protects the SIM card itself and is checked whenever the card is inserted into a new device or the phone restarts with the lock active. Changing it does not affect your device password or fingerprint unlock.
To set a new code, open Open the settings ➔ Tap on Security ➔ Tap on More settings ➔ Tap on Encryption and credentials ➔ Tap on Set SIM1 lock ➔ Tap on Change SIM PIN. If your phone runs dual SIM, pick Choose SIM 1 or SIM 2 first so the change applies to the right card.
Enter your current PIN and confirm with Type in your current PIN and confirm with OK. Then type the new code twice: first via Type in your new PIN and confirm with OK and again through Confirm new SIM PIN and tap on OK.
Three failed attempts at the current PIN lock the SIM. Unlocking it then requires the eight-digit PUK code from your provider, not a phone reset.
